Human beings to heartless robots

Internet has shrunk the size of the world and so do our hearts in the 21st century. We work like robots from sunset to sunrise leaving all our human values behind. With advent of the social networking sites, the latest trends are creating a huge setback to today’s younger generation. It is sad to notice that we are losing our basic human values and culture day by day. Now it’s all the virtual video chats and social networking sites where you can interact and even date now.

On the other day I said “hi” to my mom who is twenty feet away from me as I was pretty lazy to move my bum from the chair. She replied “Hi sweets, guess you are awake, bed coffee is right next to you have a good day!”I spend most of my day chatting with my mom online who is just sitting in the next room of my house. A streak of lightening passed through my mind one day. Are we all going in the right path? I don’t want to sit down and think whom to blame whether it is me, my mom or the advanced internet technology that has made me so lazy”. The whole technology thing has been dominating my whole mind and body for so long that I ended up being lazy, social phobic and weird.

When was the last time you ever went on a family trip? “I don’t remember “This was the most common answer i got when i was discussing about it to my friends and family members. It is really pathetic to see where our society and family values are heading in this century. If we fail to take the right steps in building great relationships with our kids and families, our future generations will end up being robots with no heart. If you feel you are losing your human values then here are a few ways to get them back.

Go for a vacation:
You might be the busiest person in the world but at the end of the day when you come home it is for the love of your kid and husband that you want the most from the world. Spend your valuable time with your kids and family by going for a short vacation in your busy schedule. If you do not want to compromise your work then you can spend at least your weekends completely with your family away from all the distractions

Know when to use a phone:
You might have encountered frequently with crazy people who talk over the phone 24/ 7 in the middle of the road, on a private meeting and a special occasion. They talk, talk , talk on the phone and eventually lose track of the events going around them. It is always essential to know when to use a phone. Make sure you don’t use the phone when you are out on a family trip or an important meeting at your office. Pick up calls only which are very essential.

Open up yourself:
Letting yourself open to others can work as a great stress buster and increase your bonding. It might be even a small encounter with the kids today at the picnic, but telling them about how you feel about it can make a whole lot of difference.

Enjoy your favourite sport:
You might be a crazy gamer in the internet but once in a while you can go play your favourite game in person with your friends in your neighbourhood. By doing so, you would learn to adjust and grow up in a healthy environment. It can be either a small board game at your house or a cricket at the sports centre.

Express your love:
When was the last time you ever hugged your mom or dad for the special thing they did for you? It always feels good to express our concern for family members and friends. It can be even a small help from your friend but a kind gesture back to them can make them smile. Next time you find someone being nice to you, go forward and give them a hug. Everybody wants to be loved in the world as we want.

We might have the best of everything we always wanted in the twenty first century but developing human values are very essential to lead a great life in the long run. There are millions of people out there who have lost the battle against the mobile phones, televisions and computers. For all of those people out there i would like to remind you that we rule the planet not the man made machines. We might have lost many battles in life but let’s win the war! .It is never too late to start now.
